Black Forest Pie with Pink Peppercorn Cherries

A housemade chocolate cookie crumb crust with a layer of coffee spiked chocolate chess, a layer of pink peppercorn spiced sweet dark cherries, a layer of light chocolate mousse, garnished with dollops of fresh whipped cream, cherries, chocolate shavings, and pink peppercorn malden salt. Whew!


Filling ingredients:  Chocolate, butter, sugar, eggs, flour, cornmeal, vanilla paste, salt, sweet dark cherries, pink peppercorns, tapioca starch, corn starch, kirsch,heavy cream, milk.

Cookie Crust ingredients:  Flour, sugar, cocoa powder, butter, salt, baking soda, milk, vanilla paste

Allergens: Eggs, cream, alcohol, *pink peppercorn.

Care: This pie must be refrigerated.

Notes: *pink peppercorns come from a bush in the cashew family and can cause an allergic reaction in people allergic to tree nuts. Pink peppercorn is actually not a peppercorn, but a dried berry from the Peruvian Peppertree. It has a peppery floral taste and is used to spice the cherries in the bottom of this pie.
